I have been involved with the Edom Lowlands Project and the JHF Archaeological Research Project since 1997. The aims of our research centers on craft production and social change through time in the Faynan region of the southern Levant. I have participated in the 1997 (Excavator), 1999 (Asst. Site Supervisor), 2000 (Field and Lab Coordinator), 2002 (Zooarchaeologist), 2003 (Site Supervisor), 2004 (Area Supervisor), 2006 (Area Supervisor) field projects. The next project is scheduled for the summer of 2007. The plan is to excavate the Early Bronze Age site of Khirbat Hamra Ifdan. I will be the Area Supervisor for excavations at a copper smelting mound located within the site. I will also serve as the Project Zooarchaeologist and will be working and training students in faunal identification and recording. If you are interested in excavating in the Middle East or would like more information on our project, please visit the Archaeology in the Levant website.

The F.A.P.S of the Southern Levant The Faynan Archaeological and Population Study represents my future endeavor in this region of the southern Levant. Survey, burial, zooarchaeological, and paleobotanical data are brought together to study the population and the dietary components of the Faynan region during the Early Bronze Age. The project will be my post-doctoral work and a spin-off from my doctorate work. |
