I developed the following resources for my own use and that of TAs in my classes. Most of them can be used directly by anybody who wants to. Some can be run only on your own server, but I am happy to make the original Perl scripts available on request.

1. Make Instant Web Pages and Move Them to Your Site

   Scripts listed here accept minimally formated material that you paste into a web page, from which they produce attractive, interactive web pages that you can save and post to your own site for use of your students. There are links to examples and to the pages into which you can paste material. As far as I have been able to discover, the output pages, using JavaScript for their interactivity, work well on both PCs and Macs and with all current browsers.

2. Petty Web Utilities and Technical Pages on Web Page Production
   1. How to Make a Web Page (a mini-site full of examples and various other materials aimed at complete beginners)
   2. Color Tester to check codes for background and text colors
   3. Unicode Utility to establish ampersand codes corresponding with Chinese characters.
   4. Romanized Chinese Diacritic Utility to replace tone numbers in Mandarin and Cantonese with tone marks.
      
   5. Unicode Compatibility Tester to check your browser & fonts for Unicode compatibility
   6. Big-5 & GB Compatibility Tester to check your browser & fonts for Chinese GB and B5 compatibility
   7. Not entirely adequate discussion of how Chinese is represented on web pages
   
   
3. Pages Requiring CGI Scripts on the Teacher's Server

   These pages require CGI scripts to process them on a regular basis. I am happy to provide the Perl script if you like, but if you don't already have a cgi-bin set up in your account, you are not going to be able to use these. Sorry.
