Anthropology is the study of human beings. This includes human
origins, behavior, and social and cultural development.
The UCSD
Anthropology Club is an undergraduate (graduate students welcome) student
organization encompassing all branches of anthropology, including sociocultural
anthropology, archaeology, and biological (physical) anthropology.
We are an officially recognized club and we do have a
core body of officers,
but our meetings are casual and usually involve good food, good friends, and
interesting discussions on pretty much any topic we choose. We encourage anyone
interested to attend. We also highly recommend that you join our mailing list,
especially if you can't always make it to meetings. This is a great way
to keep track of what's happening with the club. Finally, the web page will
have info posted for upcoming events, etc., so keep checking back for updates!

Upcoming Events
Hooray, fall quarter! –Updated Well kids, summer is almost over, so it's time to go back to school and fill your brains with knowledge only to be forgotten after the final!
The first meeting of the quarter will be Thursday, September 27 at 4:30, still on the patio at the Pub. Come by and bring a friend!
Dead Sea Scrolls! –Updated Alright, we've gotten some more info on the Scrolls exhibit. We're going to try and get a group together to go on a weekday right after the exhibit opens. Here's the info on the prices:
'On a week day (Monday - Thursday) your rate will be $15 per person with a
group of 10 or more. For a weekend day (Friday - Sunday and holidays) the
rate will be $20 per person for a group of 10 or more. If you have people
who want to join you that are not students, their rate would be $20 on a
week day and $24 on a week end.'
I'm going to try and see if I can't get us in for free, but for now I'm still looking for names of those who want to go. If you're interested, please e-mail me at nogilvie@ucsd.edu. You don't have to be in the club to come, so invite friends!
