Again, you will be using the file GSS2002PFP.SAV on the CD-ROM that comes with your book.
Part 1.
Are women more or less supportive of women’s participation in politics then men?
Get the crosstabulation for the variables FEPOL (women are not suited for politics) and SEX (the respondent’s gender). Use Analyze --> Descriptive Statistics --> Crosstabs. Obtain the proper percentages and the proper measure of association.

Get the crosstabulation for the variables FECHLD and SEX. Obtain the proper percentages and the proper measure of association.

What is the relationship between education and family size?
Get the correlation between CHILDS (number of children one has) and EDUC (highest year of education one completed). Use Analyze --> Correlate --> Bivariate.
What do you see? Is there a relationship?
Do a scattergram. Use Graph --> Scatter and choose Simple and click on Define. Your X is EDUC and your Y is CHILDS. What do you see?
Once you have the scattergram, click on it and in the new window choose Elements and click on Fit Line at Total. From the pop-up window choose Linear and click Close. You will see the regression line and R square.
