Exam Information

Midterm Examination

The midterm is scheduled for Week 5 (Oct 24).  You will have 90 minutes to complete the exam. The exam will consist of two equally weighted parts:

Part I: Short-answer identifications.  Identify and discuss the significance of eight IDs--which can be terms, concepts or events.  The IDs on the exam will be drawn from a list of about 50 potential IDs that will be distributed to the class at least one-week before the exam.  Answers should be no more than a paragraph in length.

Part II Essay question.  The essay question will address topics and readings through Week 5.  It will require you to relate theories and analytical approaches to real world outcomes and to assess the explanatory power of alternative arguments against the evidence.

See the Midterm Study Guide (PDF) Midterm Study Guide (HTML) for additional information.
